We’re excited to welcome internationally bestselling crime author Louise Candlish for a special event at Cavendish Hall in Thurston next month.

Louise will be in visiting on Sunday 1st March to talk about her writing career and her latest thriller, A Neighbour’s Guide to Murder. Waterstones will be attending and audience members will have the opportunity to purchase Louise’s books and have them signed at the end of the talk.

Tickets are £8 each (excl. booking fees) and are available to book online on TicketSource.

Ellie Longman is the Thurston Library manager and has helped to organise the event in collaboration with the Friends of Thurston Library community group. Ellie said:

“We love hosting author talks here in Thurston! Having previously welcomed other titans of crime and thriller to our village, including Nicci French and T.M. Logan, we are delighted to have award-winning Louise Candlish join us for what we’re sure will be a fantastic afternoon.

“Louise has always been an avid supporter of libraries in Suffolk and we’re looking forward to hearing her talk about her latest book!”

Louise Candlish is the author of 18 novels and is published all over the world, best known for Our House, on our screens as a major four-part ITV drama starring Martin Compston, Tuppence Middleton and Rupert Penry-Jones.

Her most recent novel is A Neighbour’s Guide to Murder - an addictive psychological crime thriller about the secrets kept behind closed doors. A Neighbour’s Guide to Murder and Louise’s other novels, including Our Holiday, The Heights, and Those People, are available to borrow from the Suffolk Community Libraries catalogue.

About A Neighbour’s Guide to Murder

In elegant Columbia Mansions, the respectable lives of residents are shattered by a shocking murder…

When Pixie moves into the flat next door, divorced Gwen takes the young woman under her wing. She more than anyone knows how important a fresh start can be. But as Pixie becomes entangled with her charismatic landlord Alec, the lines of friendship begin to blur.

With whispers of sinister secrets passing between neighbours, Gwen realises Alec isn’t the only one with something to hide and finds herself questioning how well she really knows the people she considered to be friends.

As scandal erupts in the building, old grudges resurface, leading to a crime that will destroy the peace of Columbia Mansions forever.

The last thing they need in Columbia Mansions is a scandal. The last thing they want is a murder.
