Suffolk Community Libraries is launching a new reading activity which offers a chance to explore the huge range of books on offer in libraries and win some great prizes.

From 5 March (World Book Day) ‘Spring into Reading’ Book Bingo sheets will be available to adults and children from our libraries. We want to inspire everyone to find new books to read and have fun in the process.

The idea is part of the National Year of Reading campaign which aims to inspire more people to discover the benefits of reading.

The Bingo Sheets can be collected from any library but you can also download them from our website.

There is a bingo sheet for adults and one for children. Each sheet has 12 reading challenges to find and fill in. For example, ‘find and read a book set in another world’ or ‘find and read a book with a one-word title’.

Nadia Cenci, Cabinet member for Communities, said:

“This is a wonderful idea which I hope will enthuse readers of all ages to get involved and explore the thousands of books on our library shelves. Discovering new things to read can be very exciting and it can open up a whole new world of possibilities! We hope there will be a ‘full house’ in our libraries to take part!”

Once you have a full bingo sheet you can hand it to library staff and you’ll then be entered into a monthly draw to win book tokens. A draw will be made for children and adults every month between April and November.

You don’t have to find all the books in the library and can even get inspiration from the free eBooks and aAudio books available through Suffolk Community Libraries.
