Our Schools Programme

Information for schools to boost the culture of reading and promote engagement between schools and public libraries.
The Schools Programme provides community cohesion between schools and public libraries to support literacy levels across the county. Our free downloadable packs showcase ways in which Suffolk Community Libraries can support schools in Suffolk with literacy, school library support, summer reading programmes, school readiness, and youth involvement.

Our schools programme aims to:

  • Boost the culture of reading in your school
  • Promote relationships between schools and public libraries
  • Improve literacy skills across reading abilities
  • Encourage community engagement with libraries to pupils and their families
  • Support family bonding with fun reading ideas.

To book a 1:1 visit with our Children’s Librarian or to learn more about how our libraries can work together with your school, get in touch with Erin Hamilton by emailing erin.hamilton@suffolk.gov.uk.
