Suffolk Community Libraries is inviting emerging short-form writers to apply for a new Wild Pages writing residency taking place in November. The project will give local creative people the chance to collaborate with fellow writers, develop their voice, and hone their skills in delivering eco-focussed workshops and activities for all ages.

Wild Pages is open to any short-form writers working in different formats, such as short fictionists, poets, diarists, essayists, songwriters, and scriptwriters for short plays or monologues and other mediums.

More information about the Wild Pages residency and how to apply can be found on the our application page.

The deadline for applications is 17:00 on Monday 20 October. Online interviews will then take place on Wednesday 5 November.

Sally Garwood, Senior Creative Producer at Suffolk Community Libraries, said:

“Short-form storytelling packs a powerful punch, and we’re proud to support writers exploring its potential. This residency is about carving out space for creative and environmental inquiry – giving writers the time and support to work on their craft and reflect on how their work can connect with the public, create learning opportunities, and spark meaningful dialogue.”

Wild Pages is the latest in a series of residency programmes run by the Arts team at Suffolk Community Libraries. The residencies programme celebrates creativity in the community, working closely with local talent who live in or have a connection to Suffolk.

Suffolk Community Libraries has NPO (National Portfolio Organisation) status with Arts Council England funding, with programmes promoting libraries as creative spaces. Find out more about our creative projects and initiatives on the Suffolk Community Libraries website.
