Join astrophysicist and children’s author Matt Bothwell at Mildenhall Library for a special event for primary school aged children! Matt will be hosting a fun chat about the Solar System, the Galaxy, and the Universe. There’ll be lots of images and opportunities to ask questions about space!

Matt Bothwell is an astrophysicist, science communicator and author, and is the current Public Astronomer at the Institute of Astronomy at the University of Cambridge. Matt delivers outreach to schools, runs stargazing events and offers public lectures on all-things astronomical. He is the author of the children’s book Astrophysics for Supervillains 2: The Great Alien Hunt.

About Astrophysics for Supervillains 2: The Great Alien Hunt:

““How do you travel in style across the galaxy? What do aliens really look like? What is the Fermi paradox and why should we care about it?”

Discover the answers to these questions and many more at the Supervillain Academy: the magnificently morbid school for young villains in training. Read more about how the search for extraterrestrial life and the search for planets are linked, the exoplanets and extremophiles that can be found all over the galaxy, and the weird and wonderful ways scientists think we (might) be able to travel around space.

Packed with facts about the solar system, galaxies and the universe, and, most importantly, the answer to the question: “Are we really alone?”
