About this event
Join DanceEast for their monthly Care to Dance sessions at Stowmarket Library!
Care to Dance delivers dementia specific activity for families, carers and those living with dementia. The programme utilises creative dance and music to engage participants in movement-based activities, increasing and improving participants’ mobility, co-ordination and balance.
The sessions are also designed to support the participants’ mental wellbeing through the shared enjoyment of dance, sparking creativity, joy and imagination.

In these sessions you can expect:
- a seated warm-up
- progressing to a variety of exercises
- participants copy each other’s movements and engage in repetition
- improvisation
- partner work with their carers
- games
- exploration of props.
Participants are encouraged to move at their own pace and join in with what they feel comfortable.
Care to Dance takes place on the second Wednesday of every month from 10:30 to 11:30 in the main library area.
