Join professional sculptor Emma Denby and multi-instrumentalist and sound artist Carl Cole at Sudbury Library and learn how to create your own drums, create a song, and add your own lyrics! This is part of The Blank Page Project which offers high-quality creative workshops for 10-16 year olds during the school holidays.
Workshops take place from 9.45AM to 3.30PM and include lunch, drinks and snacks!
The day will start with making your own samba drum and creatively decorating your instruments to show off your unique style. This will be followed by learning basic rhythms by Carl and then creating a song, inspired by samba, as a group with basic lyrics and rhythms. Lyrics can be influenced by favourite books found in the library or participants can create their own stories that turn into lyrics.
