Join artist and illustrator Lily from Uwu Studio at Gainsborough Community Library and create your own portraits of inspirational people you look up to! This is part of The Blank Page Project which offers high-quality creative workshops for 10-16 year olds during the school holidays.

Workshops take place from 9.45AM to 3.30PM and include lunch, drinks and snacks!

Getting young people inspired. A session to discuss and consider icons and leaders in their relative industries. To encourage young people to believe they can do wonderful things, and to be inspired by wonderful people. Lily will lead the session offering guidance and assistance on creating the portraits and using Carbon paper for those who are less confident, there are options to tailor the workshop for all ages and abilities.

How to book
Workshops must be booked in advance. You can book online via Eequ. If your booking is made within 72 hours of the workshop, we may not be able to accommodate specific dietary requirements. Please get in touch with the library location for the workshop to discuss options. Please note that whilst we welcome all young people, our staff are not specifically SEND trained.

This workshop is for 10-16 year olds only. If you feel your child requires additional support in the form of adult attendance in order to access this workshop, contact us by emailing erin.hamilton@suffolk.gov.uk.

About Lily
Lily is an illustrator working from her studio in rural Suffolk, having graduated with a first class honours in illustration. Her practice spans the creative sector from working on a commission for Black History Month for the BBC to working in an East London studio.  Lily has a real passion for colour and pattern that feeds into her love of interior décor. In addition to her decorative work lily creates bright portraits, often having inspirational women from minority ethnic backgrounds as her subject focus.
