About the Author
Dr Tom Davies studied Biology at Warwick University before training as a doctor at King’s College London. He has worked in primary and secondary care, including General Practice and Psychiatry, and is currently practising as a therapist. Drawing on his own psychological challenges, Tom brings a personal and compassionate perspective to his work, often helping patients navigate struggles he has faced himself.

For over a decade, Tom has explored psychology and philosophy, focusing on the Eastern spiritual traditions of Buddhism, Taoism and Hinduism. His insights are shaped by this exploration, as well as his experiences working with mental health patients, his own spiritual practice and many long-distance hiking adventures across Europe.

About Self-Obsession
What if our modern obsession with identity and self-improvement is actually hurting rather than helping our psychological wellbeing? And what can we do to truly alleviate our suffering? If you’ve ever struggled with stress, low mood or a loss of meaning, you have likely been told to engage in self-help. But how do we help ourselves without truly understanding what the “self” is or how our relationship with it causes us problems?

In this compassionate and galvanizing book, Dr Tom Davies gently invites you to consider the basic elements that define who you really are. Dr Tom Davies combines his knowledge of the medical, psychological and philosophical to invite you to consider a radical change in perspective that will transform your life and offer a real, lasting solution to anxiety, grief and depression.
