Immersive Tudor experiences coming to libraries this autumn

The story of Katharine of Aragon is coming to life in Suffolk’s libraries throughout September and October.

Designed by Slaget Theatre, The KATHARINE Project is an immersive experience that strips away the spectacle of the Tudor court to reveal the pulse of the woman beneath the crown – Katharine of Aragon, the first wife of King Henry VIII.

Through a masterful blend of text and innovative binaural soundscapes, explore Katharine’s devotion, defiance, and resilience, and discover why her story resonates so powerfully today.

Library events include pop-up experiences, theatre performances, a behind the scenes talk with the artists, and a special interactive writing workshop with playwright Nicola Werenowska.

The full list of events is as follows:

• Pop-up experience at Framlingham Library – 13 September from 11:30pm to 3pm
• Pop-up experience at Bury St Edmunds Library – 20 September from 11am to 4pm
• Pop-up experience at Gainsborough Community Library – 11 October from 11am to 4pm
• Interactive writing workshop at Gainsborough Community Library – 11 October from 2pm to 3pm
• Pop-up experience at Sudbury Library – 27 October from 10am to 4pm.
• Behind the scenes artist talk with Slaget Theatre at Sudbury Library – 27 October from 2pm to 3pm
• Immersive walking tour at Ipswich County Library – 20 November at 12pm, 2pm, 4pm and 5:30pm
• Immersive walking tour at Ipswich County Library – 21 November at 10am, 12pm, 2pm and 3:30pm.

All events are free to attend but some of them have limited spaces available.
