And what better year to read more than 2026, the National Year of Reading<\/a>? Backed by the National Literacy Trust, the campaign aims to tackle the worrying decline we\u2019re seeing in reading for pleasure, and to kick it off we\u2019re scrapping book fines for the months of January and February.<\/p>\n

Since Jennette McCurdy\u2019s memoir\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0Glad My Mom Died<\/em><\/a>\u00a0dominated the\u00a0book sphere\u00a0(and,\u00a0well,\u00a0just about every\u00a0sphere)\u00a0in\u00a02022,\u00a0her follow up has been hugely\u00a0anticipated.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s\u00a0now back\u00a0with\u00a0her\u00a0first\u00a0foray into\u00a0fiction.\u00a0Half His Age<\/em><\/a>\u00a0is a novel about a\u00a017-year-old yearning after her creative writing teacher. We expect it will kick of this\u00a0year\u2019s release calendar\u00a0with a bang, and plenty of laughs along the way.<\/p>\n

Davis and Patterson\u2019s\u00a0new courtroom drama,\u00a0Judge Stone<\/em>,\u00a0drops\u00a0this\u00a0March\u00a0and follows\u00a0a\u00a0small-town\u00a0Judge in the deep\u00a0South\u00a0grappling\u00a0with true justice.<\/p>\n

Long before it\u2019s due to arrive on bookshelves, the rights to Yesteryear<\/em><\/a>, podcaster Caro Claire Burke\u2019s first book, have already been acquired by Amazon with Anne Hathaway set to star.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0story\u00a0centres around a \u201ctrad wife\u201d influencer\u00a0who broadcasts her idyllic family life\u00a0in her rustic farmhouse\u00a0online, only to\u00a0wake\u00a0up one day\u00a0to find herself\u00a0transported back\u00a0to 1805, where\u00a0she\u2019s\u00a0forced to live the image of a \u201csimple\u201d settler life,\u00a0as curated on her\u00a0Instagram\u00a0page.\u00a0We can already see this\u00a0zeitgeist-y\u00a0debut\u00a0being\u00a0everywhere\u00a0later this year.<\/p>\n

Eden McKenzie-Goddard\u2019s\u00a0Smallie<\/em> is the\u00a0first novel to look at the recent Windrush scandal\u00a0and has already received\u00a0a\u00a0flood\u00a0of critical praise.<\/p>\n

Smallie<\/em> is a multi-generational tale that begins in 1961, when Lucinda arrives in Southampton from Barbados in pursuit of her lover. The story jumps back and forth to 2017, where her children are fighting claims that their mother is an illegal immigrant.<\/p>\n

Described as poetic and hugely important, we eagerly await\u00a0its early summer release.<\/p>\n
