Residency Intensives

A look at our intensive group residencies for a range of artist disciplines and mediums, including writing.

Our Residency Intensives provide:

  • Input from invited guest speakers
  • Support from the libraries team and connection to wider networks
  • Time and space to develop new work
  • Working and social time with peers for discussion and exchange of ideas and practice
  • The opportunity to further develop new work in partnership with libraries

In March 2026, we held a week-long intensive residency with local artists to explore role of libraries as places at the intersection between environmental action, creativity and wellbeing.

In November 2025, we held a week-long artist development residency for emerging nature writers who have a connection to Suffolk.

The residency offered a welcoming space for the selected writers to nurture their creative practice.

In March 2024, we held a week-long artist development residency for emerging poetry and spoken word writers.

The residency offered a nurturing space in Ipswich’s historic County Library for the selected poets to experiment with their voices.
