Suffolk Community Libraries and the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) are working in partnership to highlight Health Information Week which runs from 19-23 January.<\/p>\n

Health Information Week runs every year to promote the benefits of accessing quality health information and the huge impact this can have on your ability to stay healthy and manage illnesses effectively.<\/p>\n

There are different themes during the week including Children and Young People, Translated Patient Information, Women\u2019s Health, Mental Health and Winter Health.<\/p>\n

The East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) have a new webpage<\/a> providing links, resources and health information which people in East Suffolk and North Essex can find in one place.<\/p>\n

Julija Norkuviene, Assistant Librarian at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust, said:<\/p>\n

“Health Information Week (HIW) is a national, multi-sector campaign that promotes high-quality information for patients and the public. At ESNEFT Libraries, we know that clear, accurate health information is essential for safe, informed patient care. That\u2019s why we have developed our new webpage, which will signpost you to resources that support access to high-quality information aligned with Health Information Week themes.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Kellie Dimmock, Suffolk Community Libraries Information for Living Librarian, said:<\/p>\n

“Health information Week is a brilliant opportunity for anyone to look at health matters which really matter! It’s about gaining access to valuable and trusted health information resources which can open your eyes to many areas of your health that perhaps you hadn’t thought about before and could pay a little more attention too. At Suffolk Community Libraries we work in partnership with many like-minded organisations and charities along with the NHS, who see health as a priority and can help people be directed to the right information to support their needs”.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Two events are also taking place in libraries this week:<\/p>\n

Framlingham Library are holding a Digital Health Caf\u00e9<\/a> event on Tuesday 20 January from 2pm to 4.30pm. Someone from the Framlingham Surgery Patient Participation Group will be available to show you how to use the free NHS App and find other reliable sources of digital health information.<\/p>\n

Ipswich County Library are also holding an NHS App support session<\/a> on Friday 23 January from 11am to 1pm. Following a series of similar events at the end of 2025, this will be a chance to drop-in for free advice and support on using the NHS app.<\/p>\n

Our website is also packed with information to help people with their health and wellbeing<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This includes information about regular library activities<\/a>, information on borrowing fitness equipment<\/a> and blood pressure monitors<\/a> from libraries, and recommended books<\/a> on health issues available from your local library.<\/p>\n

There is also a dedicated health information page<\/a> on the NHS website.<\/p>\n
