Join crime author Stuart Sedgwick for a special author talk at Newmarket Library! Expect stories of policing, writing, Newmarket and the occasional glimpse behind the fictional crime scene, followed by an opportunity for questions.
£1 per person. Price includes refreshments. No need to book, just drop in!
For crime author Stuart Sedgwick, Newmarket has always felt like a second home. Stuart first arrived in the town in 1984 as a young police constable, at the very beginning of a policing career that would span 35 years. He returned to Newmarket in the 1990s as a detective, before coming back once again in 2006 as District Commander.
Now a university lecturer and crime writer, Stuart draws on those decades of policing experience to bring authenticity, humour and a distinctly Suffolk flavour to his novels featuring Detective Sergeant Sebastian Bare - Exit, Pursued by a Bare și Bare Hunt.
Join him at Newmarket Library as he looks back on policing the town across three different decades, talks about the reality behind crime fiction, and explains how his experiences helped inspire his writing, including his Bare crime trilogy.
